How to host an HTML site online

If you have a folder with index.html, styles and scripts, that is all you need to put a site online. No build step, no Node, no server: a static host simply serves your files over HTTPS. Here is how to do it on Tuqo in a couple of minutes.

Step 1. Check the file structure

The home page must be named index.html and sit at the root of the site folder:

Open index.html in a browser locally. If the page looks right, it is ready to publish.

Step 2. Upload to Tuqo

Create a site in the panel and drag the site folder onto the upload area. The files go up as they are, there is nothing to pack. Since the folder has no package.json, Tuqo knows it is ready-made static content and publishes it without a build.

Prefer an archive? A tar.gz or zip up to 50 MB works too. The one rule: index.html must be at the root of the archive.

Step 3. Connect your own domain (optional)

Want yourdomain.com instead of a subdomain? Custom domains are included from the Start plan (590 ₽/month). On the Free plan you can add one with the Custom domain add-on (149 ₽/month). FAQ

Do I have to pay? No. The Free plan is enough for an HTML site with SSL on a name.tuqo.ru subdomain. Sites on the Free plan show a small “Powered by Tuqo” badge; paid plans have none.

Why doesn’t the home page open? Most likely index.html ended up in a nested folder inside the archive. Pack the contents of the folder, not the folder itself.

Will JavaScript work? Yes, any client-side JS works as usual. There is no server-side code (PHP, Node) on static hosting.
